4) Mounting single-span sliding gates

A typical set-up for a single-span sliding gate, where the rollers do not come into contact with the gate surface itself.  This also illustrates an earlier style with the wood gates surface-mounted to an exposed steel frame.
Below, illustrating a simpler roller assembly where the rollers are mounted to the columns, aligning the gate without the added parallel rail as shown above.  The disadvantage?  The rollers can blemish the wood surface of painted gates.
