We'll turn now to a continuous single pocket style
fence panel, as in Prowell's own Front Garden Fence
Fence #6

Fence style #6 extends t a maximum 60" height. The simple
reasoning with this is that beyond 60" and the risk of the pickets developing
a bow over time increases. If you prefer a fence height beyond
60", and are drawn to this #6 style, your panel design will be modified
to include a middle horizontal rail separating the pickets into upper
and lower sections.
A Garden Fence fronting the public walk should not exceed 36"-42"
height and with open picket designs to expose the color of the garden.
Here, the fence color links to the body of the house, while making a
fine perch for the family cat, 'T-Ball.'
The previous Spring, the Fence Panels were stained and the gladiolas
are in bloom. Prowell's miniature and Bonsai "Contributor's
Garden"
would appear in its earliest form-1999-- just opposite this fence.
The Miniature Bonsai garden, which has over the years become an unlikely
depository of knick knacks and odd-ball offerings left by passersby
and children until eventually the trinkets had to be cleared out
every few months to make room for even more trinkets. What
started this is anyone's guess, but the children (and the curious)
are drawn to this small garden with the lure of a hands-on fantasy.
