The Gate Design #9 exhibits a center stile, with tighter spacing between the lower pickets and horizontally aligned grids within the upper section.

This is a common solution for maintaining a sense of design, while offerring a little more privacy. 


Custom Wood GatesLook, don't be naive. Evil exists.  Currently there are reports circulating of a band of thugs combing our decent cities in search of, well . . . gates.  Yes, gates.  Stealing them. While you eat dinner and while you are combing your hair and yes, while you are flossing your teeth.  Stealing your gate and adding it to a growing, sizable collection of gates stashed somewhere in the wilderness of Idaho.  Why?  Well, they are thugs, yes, but not stupid.  They are sitting on their collection, waiting patiently, and as each day passes and the value of their stolen CPW gates grow exponentially, they make lists of the commodities only money can buy:  chaps, masks, gloves, goggles, matches, bug repellant . . .

So keep a watchful eye.  It's your gate, not theirs.

CPW Gates in Chicago.

A wonderful 1920's Dutch Tudor tucked into one of Chicago's inimitably charming hamlets.  Our homeowners were looking to segment their existing drive to incorporate a garden area adjacent to their portico entry.  This was accomplished by first creating a separation utilizing the gate and matching panels Charles has drawn from the geometry of the upper  horizontal front windows, mimicking both their orientation as well as their divided lites.

Wooden Garden Gate  The job site. 
* It was this week, during the course of our project, that this Chicago hamlet was struck with a 17-year cycle of frenzied cicadas.  Hundreds of thousand of rackety, deafening cicadas drowning out phone conversations between Charles and his patron.  A patron, who it turned out, had a morbid, psychotic fear of bugs to begin with and who, during this 'cicada week', nearly lost her mind.
