The
listed
fence costs above do not include posts & post caps. |

An
important note regardimng your posts. Below is a link to
an example post setting. It will make the difference between
a post with an 8-year life and a post with a 30+ year life.
When investing in the CPW fencelines, don't allow an improperly
set post to be your weakest link. Insist your installer follow
this method for posts that are to be set into the grade.
Other methods, such as above-grade brackets and threaded
rod are acceptable as well. |

The
panels are a maximum 60" width. We offer the
price columns for panels at 36" or less in width because
often a gate is flanked by two panels on either side that
are less than 36" width each. |
* |
Calculating
the Math: Over a given run, they are configued to equal
width as close to the 60" maximum as the math
allows. |
|
|
If as
an example you have
32 ft of straight fence-line, we translate that to 384
inches. If
you are using surfaced 6x6 posts at 5-1/2" net, simply
divide 384" by 65-1/2 to reach the number of panels required.
The final, exact width of each panel will be called out
in your dimensioned drawings posted for your review.

Fabricated

from sustainable groves in Oregon and British Columbia. |

Some
Fence Panel Designs are shown with optional Pattern Blocks. Pattern
Blocks are small blocks tenoned to the pickets to create
a subtle break from the linear repetition. |

All
orders are accompanied with a step-by-step installation procedure
which can be found under the Site Map, or on the project
site you are provided for posting drawings, statements, etc. Or

Confused?
If it all seems too confusing, simply send an email or
call for preliminary costs and timetables. Mention your preferred
Fence Style and height, with approximate dimensions. Include
your Zip Code for shipping cost. If you are uncertain
of what fence design is best for your site, send a jpeg of
the residence and the corroborating landscape. Remember:
the idea is not to select a design that will ultimately upstage
your architecture or landscape. It must belong to the
precedent of your existing site.

Finishing
your Wood Fence: The decision to stain or allow
to weather or paint is dependent on several factors. |
|
1)
|
Small,
manicured sites in groomed neighborhoods benefit from the panels
being connected to the architecture of the house. This
is done by mimicking either the house body color or it's secondary
trim color. As a paint or a Cabot brand stain. |
|
2) |
Fence Panels
that are allowed to weather and grey are best suited for:
A) Organic wooded sites
B) Larger sites lots where the Fence is associated more with
the landscape than the house.
C) Sites complimented by
neighboring open space. |
|
3) |
Finishing
the Fence Panels does not prolong their life. Regardless of
what the finishing industry has said, Port Orford and Western
Cedar does not need a synthetic protective coating to
weather the elements for decades upon decades. There is
also the advantage that no part of the panels in is contact
with the ground, where bacteria and fungus and dry-rot breed.
Nor any part of the panels that is withdrawn from moving
air and light, which are also proponants for breeding bacteria.
Cedar has inherant tanins and oils that are highly
effective to resisting bacteria. |
