The Garden Gate has many purposes--
With this application, it serves as a forum for seasonal art.
The artwork of course is an optional accessory provided by the homeowner.

This DC property is an original Sears kit house.  The single, scalloped Garden Entry Gate was designed to incorporate an existing porch rail detail. The center pattern to mimic the window layout below the house gable. The center box to allow for an interchangable work of art.

  -It was at the homeowner's request to create a forum, or showcase, for seasonal art.

Oddly, the Gate #64 represents the only gate on this web site that has never been commissioned beyond the orginal patron.
Why? 
Is it ugly?
It is too distinct, with it's art box offering? 
And why exactly do we continue to offer it, if in fact it holds no appeal whatsoever?  Because, Charles likes it.
