---The original Wood Gates presented on the following pages represent the first phase in raising the bar on Landscape Furnishings.  Setting a benchmark far above the level of work that was being designed and fabricated prior to CPW's introduction of its Garden Gate in 1992.  The Gate Designs developed by Charles Prowell Woodworks, have been created with the principles of stile & rail construction. Each of the primary mortised joints is secured with a lifetime state-of-the-art joint to insure the greatest structural character.  Our Garden Gates are available in clear dry Port Orford cedar, clear dry Western Cedar, and clear dry Southern Cypress.  We do not employ semi-skilled labor nor outsource overseas.  Our production facilities are manned by master craftsman who see their projects through start to finish.  All of our Wooden Garden Gate Designs are created to your specified dimensions. We are happy to consider jpegs or snapshots of your landscape and architecture in his efforts to design your Custom Gate to its surrounding precedents.

Stemming from our Wood Garden Gates was the almost immediate introduction of a Driveway Gate Design and specification that quickly took on a life of its own.  Realizing by the overwhelming reaction at the time that we had stumbled upon a genre that offered nothing comparable, CPW's Wood Driveway Gates were fine-tuned into a system that coordinates with local contractors and automation contractors for an easy installation to any type of column, pillar, or post.  Gallery 2 exhibits more than 30 designs for the Driveway Gates. 

---Meanwhile....CPW's innovative Fence Designs , developed over a period of several years as a groundbreaking approach to a genre in desperate need of fresh ideas, were created to elevate the premise of Wood Fence Designs into an art form.  Originally our Wood Fences were developed as flanking panels to compliment the Garden Gate, representing a level of artistry and craftmanship that has defined the work of Charles Prowell Woodworks for over 30 years. Quickly the Gates and Fences however took on a greater scale, discovering a market of those realizing the full extended Fence for an entire perimeter fenceline.  A showcase of subtle workmanship, CPW's Craftsman Wood Fence Designs can at once establish the architectural precedent of a home's identity while offering the flexibility of various designs and dimensions along with a simple modular installation to satisfy the primary needs of, well...a Fence. The Wood Fence panels are of the same woods as our Garden Gates and other products, constructed with tenons, dadoes, and high-strength adhesives. For volume orders of less than six panels, the individual length is configured to the provided dimensions of any fenceline--less posts and Gate stops. Each Wood Fence panel is a maximum of 5-ft in width. For volumes orders of more than six panels, the panels are confined to either 60" and 36" widths only, and at a 40% discount per panel.  Wood Fence Panel prices do not include posts, post caps, or installation.  Shipped or delivered or picked up at one of our six production facilities, the Fence Panels are fully assembled and ready to install.  CPW's Wood Fence Designs can be viewed on Gallery 3.

These developments and their eventual prototypes have lead, within their landscape division, to a distinctive selection of works available only within these galleries: Eventually they are all copied or mimicked or simulated in an underworld of knock-offs that defines any trade or genre lead by a front-running talent.  Charles learned long ago, graduating under Buckminster Fuller at Southern Illinois University, to always look ahead, moving forward, and consider the sidelong glances over one's shoulder as flattery rather than as threats.  Woodworks all over the country belong to a family lead by the common creed of creating works of lasting beauty, and we applaud anyone who chooses this as a means of support.
